The Big Break is a reality television program broadcast by GOLF Channel. The show's premise was to award an aspiring professional golfer exemptions into selected events or full-season exemptions on lower-level tours. The series debuted on October 6, 2003 and had a 23 season run. During that time, I wore many creative hats to help with both pre-production, on-site and post-production creative needs for the series.
The arc of my involvement would start with establishing branding and color schemes unique to each series. I would also communicate wardrobe parameters with each participating contestant prior to shooting; letting them know what is allowed to be worn on camera and asking them to bring specific wardrobe options for creative scenarios. I would work with GOLF Channel's promotional teams to concept and present creative for marketing approval prior to shooting. I'd contract and manage on-site still photographers for both editorial and commercial shooting. Once on site, I'd work with show production to assist with site surveys and help develop creative scenarios for the show's title sequence. Once shooting would commence, I'd organize and edit all still photography and then distribute to internal GOLF Channel groups (like Marketing, PR, Show Producers and Creative) so that promotional assets and show production could be completed.
